The Business Studies department offers courses to suit students of all abilities and interests. We have a dedicated conference room and ICT suite with student learning at the heart of everything we do. Lessons involve a mixture of written, verbal, creative, research and computer-based activities.
Students learn more about enterprise, which is initially delivered in their CPSHE lessons in Years 7 to 9. We are also passionate about the promotion of ethics, morals, e-safety and the need to keep young people safe online.
In Year 10, students can opt to study the Edexcel GCSE in Business Studies. This course is designed to support progression to A Level Business or Economics. Subject content includes enterprise and starting a business, economics (demand, supply, interest and exchange rates) and business and IT communication.
Some students can also opt to study BTEC Level 2 Travel and Tourism (equivalent to one GCSE).
In the sixth form, students can choose to study the new AQA A-level Business. This covers management, leadership and decision making, marketing, operational performance, finance, HR and business strategies.
